Hiking Waldo Canyon Loop
hike distance: 6.8 miles round trip
hike time: 4 hrs
elevation gain: 2000 ft
Easy to moderate hike

Trailhead: From Colorado Springs take Highway 24 west past Manitou Springs. 2 miles after you pass the stoplight for Cave of the Winds there will be a large and usually crowded parking lot on the right side of the road. This is the parking for this trailhead.

Mt. Bierstadt

Saturday, Aug 30th
We're hiking a 14er! We have chosen Mt Bierstadt as our first 14er hike. It's one of the "easier" 14ers in Colorado. The closest town is Georgetown and the hike begins from the crest of Guanella Pass. It's only about a 7mile round trip hike, which is easy to accomplish in the morning/early afternoon.
Carpooling is encouraged, I am going to leave Colorado Springs by 5am to get on the mountain early. There are 2 people in my car already, I have room for one more.

Wendy asked me to post to see if there is any interest in hiking Long's Peak or Grey's Peak.
She would like to get a group together before the summer is over.
Wendy is a real Wild Woman and she's training for the Pikes Peak Ascent, so the hike would have to be planned anytime after August 23rd.
